Onlyfans have proven themselves to be monster cocks, fucking almost every creator that worked to build them to where they are.

Look, to be straight, it probably won’t cut me that deep. Onlyfans has been a small part of my broader picture over the past 2 years and I don’t do explicit content, but as you should know if you’re on a site called hypnocult… I do make mesmerising things, and that’s always been against their TOS which it seems they’ll be enforcing harder, so I’m expecting things to be removed, and hypnorosie to be totally suspended.

It not impacting me so much doesn’t mean that I’m not shitting it about what it ACTUALLY means: sexworkers are the canaries in the coal mines. Banks in another country get to decide what I can consent to sharing with other adults; they are trying to tell predominantly women and LGBTQ+ people that it is unacceptable to be sexual and to make a living of your choosing. Access to women should be free, apparently.

Sex work is the oldest profession in the world. Sex workers are resilient, brilliant people, and have been at the forefront of some of the biggest online platforms and businesses around, and yet we are thrown off as soon as they get a sniff of mainstream, or as soon as a puritanical financial institution says so. Sex work is empowering for me personally, but this experience is the absolute opposite – to have no control or kind of capital to be able to effectively challenge… powerlessness will always be something I struggle with.

How on earth have we found ourselves in a situation where a financial institution can dictate what we can spend money on based on morals? Institutions shouldn’t have that power – especially ones that are as corrupt as we know banks to be! They will fund guns, terror, drug cartels, but GOD FORBID a woman wants to sell a clip of herself getting pleasured.

Your favourites are fuming- many will hit financial hardship, because while the 50k/month girls are very visible, there’s a ton of creators nowhere near that position and in situations where ‘regular’ jobs are not a suitable alternative. Tips here and there absolutely do make a difference, and if there was ever a time to show that you support sex workers that make your life more pleasurable or more frustrating (whatever you’re into), it’s absolutely now.

I’ll be keeping my onlyfans up and running as long as I can – I’ve got thoughts about what it could be post October – but I’m now back to updating my Pocketstars again (and hopefully I’ll be on LoyalFans when it’s an easier cashout for UK creators. You’ll be able to sign up via my referral here, creators and fans, which gives me a little back for every transaction/sale, so it’s pretty great)
